SAA Senior Named National Merit Semifinalist

St. Agnes Academy senior Katie Ryan has been recognized as a National Merit Semi-finalist in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. Semifinalist students rank among the top one percent of high school seniors throughout the country.
An outstanding leader, Katie has served as the Student Government Chaplain for four years exhibiting dedication and inspiration to her peers. She also volunteers as a Retreat Leader and Peer Mentor. She is captain of the Knowledge Bowl team, competes with the SAA Mathletes, and is a member of the St. Agnes STEM Club. Katie recently earned honors as an AP Scholar with Distinction for her outstanding performance on the AP exams for the 2018 testing period. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Societe Honoraire du Francais, Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, International Thespian Honor Society and National Beta Honor Society.
Katie is as at home on the stage as she in the classroom. She is a member of the SAA vocal groups, Ladies First and Starlettes, and she has appeared on the stage in numerous productions including Sister Act, High School Musical, Letters to Sala and Peter and Wendy. This summer Katie attended the prestigious Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts, an intensive program that provides high quality arts education for gifted and talented high school students held at Middle Tennessee State University.
