A Tradition of Brotherhood

Back
"We have come a long way as a class and have created a brotherhood like no other. We’ve shared many memories that have helped sculpt our class into who we are today: unique brothers who aspire to live by the four pillars in our daily life, while having a little fun."

DR Nunn SD ’18 (Valedictorian)

Brotherhood Begins Here

Community is the foundation of who we are at St. Dominic School. Working together in the classroom, competing on the playing field, or serving together in the community, our St. Dominic students are united by a special bond of brotherhood. Here remarkable boys become extraordinary young men while sharing in traditions that build a sense of belonging.

Many graduates say the friendships they developed with their peers and with faculty are among the most important benefits they carry with them from their experience at St. Dominic.

Traditions are an important part of building a sense of belonging.

Students spend a week every October celebrating the gift of Brotherhood that they experience daily at St. Dominic School for Boys. Brotherhood Week centers around the four pillars of study, prayer, community, and service. A highlight of the week includes the annual Brotherhood Bowling event when our older students (Big Brothers) partner with our younger students (Little Brothers) for an afternoon of fun. Students join forces and participate in service projects in the community.

The annual St. Dominic Christmas pageant is one of the most anticipated events of the Christmas season. For over 35 years St. Dominic students in grades 1-4 have been recreating the story of the Nativity in an elaborate stage production.

The SDS 8th Grade Tribute has become a treasured tradition celebrating our young men and their parents as they approach the crossroads between elementary and high school. The tribute affords families the opportunity to reflect on the many joys that brought them to this place.

Our St. Dominic Suns have a tradition of fielding strong athletic teams. From football to soccer to basketball and golf, bonds of brotherhood are forged on the playing field.
