Freaky Friday Earns Eight Orpheum Nominations

The talented cast and crew of Freaky Friday earned eight nominations from the Orpheum High School Musical Theatre Awards. The group was nominated in the following categories:
Outstanding Overall Production - Freaky Friday
Outstanding Chorus
Outstanding Small Ensemble - the cops
Bravo Nomination - Elliot Shah
Outstanding Featured Actress - Liv Shallow
Outstanding Supporting actress - Hazel Brady
Outstanding Lead Actress - Summer Edwards
Outstanding Direction - Ann Neal
"We are blessed and humbled by these nominations," said Ann Neal, Theatre Arts Director. "I am so proud of this fantastic cast. And as always, we congratulate all the other schools' performances. There is nothing like the talent of the young people in this area. Thank you Orpheum for recognizing them."
The Orpheum High School Musical Theatre Awards will be held Thursday, May 23, at the Orpheum. The HSMTA program supports, promotes, and enhances high school musical theatre throughout the Mid-South. Modeled after the Tony Awards®, the High School Musical Theatre Awards recognizes achievements in all areas of high school musical theatre and brings together hundreds of students from all over the region to share their talents and collaborate with one another.
