As we prepare to begin the 2019-2020 school year at St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School, we are delighted to greet the newest members of our talented faculty and staff. Please read these short profiles below to learn more about their varied backgrounds and help us welcome them all to our community!

ST. DOMINIC SCHOOL

Lauren Harkess – St. Dominic Grade 1  

Our St. Dominic first grade teacher Lauren Harkess joins our faculty from St. John Catholic School where she served as the kindergarten teacher for 13 years. Lauren received a master’s degree in instruction and curriculum from the University of Memphis and a bachelor’s degree from Lambuth University.

Alyson Kapki – St. Dominic Grade 3

Alyson Kapki joins our faculty from Shelby County Schools where she has been teaching 3rdgrade and serving as the Math content lead at Sherwood Optional School. She was recently recognized as semifinalist for the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program. She has a Master of Arts in teaching/math from Christian Brothers University and a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Alabama.

ST. AGNES LOWER SCHOOL

Britney Dedmon – SAA K-8 Counselor

Britney Dedmon joins the St. Agnes Lower School as Counselor for grades Kindergarten through 8. Mrs. Dedmon has a Master of Arts in counseling and guidance with a concentration in school counseling from New York University and a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the University of Memphis. She most recently worked at Hutchison School and Ripley Elementary School.

SAA-SDS JUNIOR HIGH

Matt Bell – Spanish/Latin  - Grade 8

Matt Bell has a master’s degree in teaching secondary education/foreign language from the University of Memphis and a bachelor’s degree in recording technology and Spanish. He comes to us from Christian Brothers High School where he taught Spanish. Additionally he has prior experience teaching Spanish and Latin at Providence Preparatory School in Texas and Collegiate School of Memphis.

Amy Cluck – Geography -  Grade 8

Amy Cluck has 20 years of experience in elementary and junior high classroom teaching in both public and private schools.  Most recently she taught 6thand 7thgrades at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School. She has a master’s degree in teaching from the University of Memphis and a bachelor’s degree in communications from St. Louis University.

Kristin Jayroe – Spanish - Grade 7

Kristin Jayroe brings 15 years of experience that includes teaching in both public and private schools. She taught in the Marion Schools in Arkansas, at St. Michael’s Catholic School in West Memphis, and most recently at West Memphis Christian School. Kristin has a master’s degree in educational leadership from Arkansas State University and bachelor’s degree in computer science and Spanish.

ECC/SAA LOWER/ST. DOMINIC

Bethany Odom - Director of Dominican-Catholic Identity, PK2-8:

Mrs. Odom taught Religion at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School for 20 years and served as the school’s Religion Coordinator.  She has developed religion curriculum, as well as planned retreats and liturgies, and coordinated service activities for the school.  She has a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Memphis. 

ST. AGNES UPPER SCHOOL

Dani Avery –  Spanish

Dani Avery has 30 years experience teaching high school Spanish at Bolton High School. She taught both Honors and AP courses and served as chair of the World Languages Department. Dani has a Master of Arts in teaching from the University of Memphis and a Bachelor of Science in business & Spanish from Murray State University.

Aude Bonnot –French

Aude Bonnot received a master’s degree in business law in Paris and a CELTA certificate from Cambridge University.  She is fluent in French and English and is conversant in Spanish and German.  Most recently, she has been working as a volunteer at Alliance Française de Memphis.

Ginny Crittendon –  Fine Arts

Ginny Crittendon is a familiar face to many on campus. She previously taught freshman art and served as the sophomore counselor at St. Agnes. Ginny most recently taught art at Lord of Life Preschool in Memphis. She has a Bachelor of Arts in studio art from the University of Tennessee. 

Anissa Dalle –  English

Anissa Dalle will teach sophomore English and directing the Upper School Writers’ Room. She has a Master of Arts in English from the University of Memphis.  Most recently, she has been an Instructor of Intensive English for Internationals at the University of Memphis.  She previously taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign.

Paul Dooley - Theology

Mr. Dooley is moving from our Jr. High to the Upper School where he will teach 11thgrade Theology. He has a bachelor’s degree in English from Christian Brothers University and a master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University in education. He is certified as a catechist in the Diocese of Memphis in addition to holding certifications to teach Latin and English.

Christine Giles –  Theology

Christine Giles received a bachelor’s degree in business communications and theology from Spring Hill College. She previously taught both theology and psychology at St. Benedict where she also served as Student Retreat Coordinator. She is a Dominican Associate, Eucharistic Minister, and a member and Student Volunteer Coordinator for Madonna Circle. Christine is a St. Agnes alumna.

Rhonda Martin – Social Sciences

Rhonda Martin has 11 years experience teaching in independent schools. She taught at St. George’s where she served as chair of the History Department. She most recently taught at Margolin Hebrew Academy. Mrs. Martin has a master’s degree in history from the University of Memphis and a master’s degree in education from Christian Brothers University. She is currently completing work on her PhD in history.

Marshall Veasey –Fine Arts

Marshall Veasey joins the Fine Arts Department as the Upper School music teacher and director of the Starlettes and Ladies First vocal groups. He received a bachelor’s degree in voice from Delta State University and is currently working on his M.A.E. at Bethel University.  He previously was the vocal music teacher at Kate Bond Middle School. 

ATHLETICS

Kelsey Cunningham, ATC – Athletic Trainer
Kelsey Cunningham is employed by OrthoSouth as an outreach athletic trainer and part-time assistant athletic trainer at St Agnes Academy-St Dominic school. Originally from Missouri, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Truman State University. 

BUSINESS

Kim Perkins  - Business Office Assistant

Kim Perkins received a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Memphis and previously worked for International Paper in their External Reporting department. She has also worked for First Tennessee in their External Reporting department as well as at two local churches as a financial administrator.
