High School Summer Programs
Successful Stars is a program designed for rising 9th grade SAA students to benefit from a jump start into successful beginnings in English and/or Math concepts.
Transition to High School English
Taught by one of the freshman English teachers, this course is designed for students who need reinforcement of English skills or who want to warm up for SAA English. We will cover typical 9th grade grammar problems, sentence structure, and composition skills (well-developed paragraphs and 5-paragraph essays, topic sentences, and thesis statements). We will discuss good writing and write daily. All rising 9th graders are welcome.

Transition to High School Math
This class is designed for students who need more practice to have a firm grasp of the mathematical concepts necessary for success in high school. The topics that will be explored include integers, fractions, exponents, percents, order of operations, area and perimeter, simplifying variable expressions, one and two step equations and inequalities, proportions, and coordinates and graphs. Required materials: pencils, calculator, notebook paper.
