St. Agnes Academy Announces New Cheer Team Coaches

01 May, 2024

St. Agnes Academy is pleased to announce that Emily Monroe and Jenna Perry will join our staff as Cheer Team coaches for the 2024-2025 school year.

Emily Monroe will lead our Junior High Cheerleaders (7th-8th grade).

A native of Springfield, Missouri, Emily has been involved in the cheer world since she was a little girl. She participated in gymnastics, competitive cheer, and school cheer all through high school, and began coaching competitive cheer during her senior year. After high school, Emily cheered for the University of Memphis, where her team won 3 National Championships and she individually placed top 3 in partner stunts.

While in college, she was a member of the UCA College Staff, traveling all over the U.S. in the summers to help other colleges. Since graduating from the U of M, she has coached local high school cheer teams and has traveled nationwide to arrange choreography.

Emily and her husband own a small business in Collierville, Cville Social. Emily shared “I am excited to have this opportunity to coach SAA junior high. I hope to make this year something special for each and every one of my athletes!”

Jenna Perry will lead our Junior Varsity, Varsity, and Competition Cheer Teams (Grades 9-12).

Jenna has been cheerleading her entire life, beginning with gymnastics and all-star cheerleading at an early age. She cheered at Memphis Elite, Arlington Middle School, and Arlington High School where her team earned National Championships and her passion for competitive cheerleading really began to grow.

After graduating high school, Jenna went on to the University of Mississippi, and after a short break from cheer joined the UCA staff as a camp instructor. During her time with UCA she worked with teams all over the country, led and taught camp staff as a Head Instructor, was involved in creating camp curricula, and even got to be a part of filming instructional UCA materials. After moving back to Memphis from Ole Miss, Jenna began coaching and working on choreography for several local teams.

Her time on the UCA staff lead to a full-time position at Varsity Spirit as a part of the Varsity All Star team.  Jenna is a veteran judge and has spent much of her professional career judging both all-star and school cheerleading at the local and national level, including the National High School Cheerleading Championships. She was recently involved in the development of the current scoring system used at competition.

Jenna shared, “I am so excited to join St. Agnes Cheerleading and feel so blessed with this opportunity. I’m excited to get to know your athletes and the entire St. Agnes cheer family!”
